The personal website building itch has struck me yet again... I decided to scrap the website I built last time and start from scratch again so that I can hopefully finally understand how html and css work.
Currently, this is a very barebones website with html only. I set a timer for one hour to keep my playing around with code contained. The plan is for the website to remain pretty stripped down visually, mostly because the maximalist indieweb look (while very fun and nostalgic) seems a bit overwhelming to put together and misaligned with my personal aesthetic anyway.

Sidebar index to scroll through posts. Maybe in toggle form?
Thick margins. visually, I would like if the text could be skinny and justified. I want to include images in posts and it would be cool if the images to stick out the sides a bit, if that makes any sense.
Hand-drawn icons and other elements?
Figure out if there's a way to make clickable footnotes in a blog post.
What I got up to today
Slept in. Idk if it's something to do with being older, but I am finding it harder and harder to wake up early. I slept in until about 10:30, which I suppose is fine for a Saturday.
Lunch with Dad. He had flown to Tokyo for a very short business trip. We met at his hotel and we walked over to an unagi shop in Ginza. His birthday was this week, and tomorrow is fathers day, so I picked up a little gift for him. It was a little wooden massager. I find that Dad is hard to shop for. He doesn't want for much, and the little he wants for he usually buys for himself.
