I've been sat at home all day today because of a typhoon (a double typhoon, allegedly) blowing through town.
I've created a css stylesheet to apply to all pages on my site. So far, all I've set are the text alignment and margins. I'm happy that i've been able to get the text to be responsive to the window size. Yippee!
Maybe I'll type up a proper manifesto or whatever eventually, but I expect that this website will be an ever-changing cozy online home for me. I read Digital Home, an online zine by nabiu, which basically captures what I'm trying to do here, so maybe go read that.
If all I wanted to do was to share my life online, would it be easier to have a substack or to go back on instagram? 100% - However, I was insterested in learning a new skill and I appreciate how frustrating web dev is. I know that building a website by ~vibecoding~ or whatever makes things easier than ever, but I am chosing to do it the hard way on purpose, for my own satisfaction.
I'm also currently reading How to Take Smart Notes by Sonke Ahrens and trying to revamp my notetaking system. The goal is to be able to make more connections between my various interests and to identify broad themes in my personal research. I am using Capacities for my notes, which has been pretty intuitive and fun to work with, but I feel like I'm still not making perfect use of all of its features.
